Hip-Hop is one of the largest youth cultures in the nation. It has infiltrated the mainstream and has a huge impact in urban communities. The power of hip-hop led us to believe that we needed a spot where we can have honest discussions about hip-hop music and culture. We needed a spot where we can figure out how to use such a powerful genre of arts to benefit the communities it is supposed to serve. We needed a spot where we can prove that hip-hop is a true culture despite what critics have to say. We needed a spot that would allow artists to heard that need to be heard. We needed a spot that does not focus on gossip but about finding truth. We needed to be school'd. We needed HipHopIvy.
